Mga pagariya ang mahirap kc sa inyo puro na lng negative side nakikita nyo, ang alam ko meron cla bago gnagawa na alternate bridge malapit lng dun sa old bridge connecting basagad... hndi ako nakatira sa baloi pero almost a week andun ako to visit some relatives, I often times mglakad sa old bridge pero hndi nman cguro babagsak na... masyado kau exaggerated! nakikita nyo ba yan upper portion ng WEB PAGE natin, that is the legendary old bridge sa tingin ko matuwid p nman, wag na nyo asamin na mg karon kayo ng golden gate of San Fransisco.
Kuya Pads hindi naman kami exaggerated or whatsoever.. I am just stating my humble views on what I see is true hehehe.. Yung totoo 'in danger' na ang tulay! Ang sa akin lang, hihintayin pa ba natin na mahulog ulit ang tulay? Let's be proactive! Come to think of it..
SALAAM TO IBALOINS.

Rasulullah S.A.W said " QOL KHAIRAN AW LIYASMOT". It can be interpreted as " SPEAK GOOD OR SHUT UP".

My dear IBALOINS, the Bailey Bridge that you are pointing is very old enough that any attempt to repair AFTER SEVERAL REPAIR DONE shall surely not result to SAFE usage. Engineering wise, it is recommendable for total wrecking.

The importance of replacing it with NEW ONE was seen as early as in the middle 80's. In fact the DPWH has finished the design of the NEW BALOI BRIDGE (supposed to be located 300 meters downstream the bridge) in the late 80's and was actually started to construct by APJ Construction in the early 90's

During the construction of the CRANEWAY, it was found that the riverbed strata was ROCKY. Pile driving was a total failure that not a single concrete pile penetrated down. Of course, the blame was to the Designer of the DPWH because they relied on the data of the old bailey bridge IN DESIGNING A NEW PIER TYPE CONCRETE BALOI BRIDGE.

Anyway, after several efforts, the DPWH has re-designed the Bridge into "Steel Truss Type". BUT when they tried to contruct the Bridge, BAD WINDS INTEREFERE; The landowners in the mumongan side REFUSED to give the Road Requirement. Several strong attempts were made by the LGU to bridge the gap between the landowner and the DPWH but all went in vain.

But on the other side, we also observed that the proposed location of the New Bridge is NOT technically sound to connect the TALAKAG-TAGOLOAN-BALO-I-MATUNGAO-LINAMON ROAD (because it creates two-time 80 deg turns making the cargo trucks very difficult to twist)

Taking the proposal of the LGU, Congressman ADD finally transfered the location of the New Bridge 100 meters upsteam the existing Bailey Bridge ( connecting Pilombayan and Basagad). CONSTRUCTION OF THIS BRIDGE IS NOW ON GOING by a very competent Contractor.

This is the Report of your Municipal Engineer

Wassalam.
Sir very well said. Thanks for the information. It could also be possible if the constituents of Baloi could know this kind of relevant information so as not to aware them, after all it's the right of the people to have an access to public information such as this..
oway ruk o ndadatoan so paka iza na ruk o ndadato so panagontaman...
Sir Ali well taken po ang sinabi nyo, pero sabi nga rin nila MARAMING PARAAN KUNG GUGUSTUHIN NATIN! On that note, it's the initiatives of the LGU to act on this and to find plausible solutions. Problems are created with corresponding solutions!
A simple publication in Maranao/Bisaya/Tagalog/English could be drafted. Just a suggestion lng po heehe..
