Baloi is a 4th class municipality in the province of Lanao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 44,366 people.

It is also the home of the Agus IV Hydroelectric Powerplant (Located in Barangay Nangka; 18 kilometers from Iligan City). The first underground hydroelectric plant in Mindanao and the third in the Philippines, located 120 meters below ground surface. The plant is said to be sufficient to light a city more than 12 times the size of Iligan City or to run 20 cement factories.

The Municipality of Baloi is a crossroad of two cities, Iligan City and Marawi City. As part of the Province of Lanao del Norte, this Municipality is strategically located in terms of trade development and agricultural growth. Previously, it has an airstrip that caters the needed services of passenger’s flights coming from Cebu City and Cotabato City.

Baloi serves as one of the outlets of the said two cities in terms of commercial and agricultural products. While on basic agricultural products like rice and corn, it also serves as an ultimate consumer of the said products produced by other municipalities in the province. However, coconut has been produced locally at a voluminous quantity. This will somehow help the Province/Region in its demand for coconut goods and by-products.
